My agency photographs I still remember

In recent years I took hundred thousands of photos. A bunch of them were published via news agencies. ;-)

Last week the people at one agency ask the photographers to select ten of their most recognizable pictures for an exhibition.

I picked this ones… ;-)

This photo was published in many newspapers. It shows a big fire of a store near Hanover/Germany. The flames blazed high behind a tree with frozen extinguishing water on it. Some newspapers only showed this picture to illustrate the news, no other one else

A woman mixed up brake and gas pedals and crashed through the wall of a parking garage. She was lucky - the car stopped in this position 20 feet above the street. The woman didn't get injured. The photo ran in many magazines worldwide ;-)

This is an aerial photo of the mourning ceremony in a soccer arena in Hanover for german national goalkeeper Robert Enke, who died at a suicidal train accident in Nov. 2009. I took this sitting in a small so-called gyrocopter. The picture ran as a cover for one of the biggest newspapers in Germany

One of my first pics with the new D700: People in Hanover commemorate the heaviest bomb attack night in the second world war against Hanover. I tried not to do my photographs while the official minute's silence because it had been really out of turn

This photo of a new sports called "Kaninhop" ran as a double-page in a german magazine. A making-of can be found here: http://simonsenphoto.com/blog/2010/01/10/double-truck-view-magazine-and-the-making-of/

My favorite dog photo: A dog owner tried to lure a pug with a treat to jump over a hurdle. The dog got the treat - but didn't jumped ;-)

this photograph was taken at a memorial battle near Hamburg. I used the high-speed continuous shooting of the Nikon D3 with 8 frames/sec. and began to shoot when they did ;-)

No ordinary picture: This is a photograph taken at the same big store fire from the beginning. It's something special because a) it's not usual get the chance to photograph from high above on a ladder while the fire ist still bursting and b) I wore a filter mask like the fireman and had to shot nearly blind with just gut thinking. This ran as a newspaper cover.

This Lemur was a little bit too snoopy and jumped onto the shoulder of an agency colleague while we did an appointment at the Zoo of Hanover

Four flashes - making of here: http://simonsenphoto.com/blog/en/2010/02/03/on-assignment-the-elephants-robotic-trunk/

This picture of a sloth is the result of patience. The Zoo of Hanover showed the sloth during a press presentation. I waited till other photographers had left the scene and got this very familiar picture

No fake: Police officers found this elephant's foot early in the morning on a crossroad near Hanover

cristian - They are really great shot, my favourite is the last one, so unusual and well taken, a masterpiece!

Very good work!

:)
